7 months later, LOL

So, it has only taken me 7 months to attempt to write another blog.  Just to update you all on our current situation, we ARE moved in (mostly anyway) our house.  We are PATIENTLY awaiting our builders to come back to finish up a few loose ends.

We are now without a pool and actually have some grass growing (thanks to hubby) where our pool used to reside.  I still haven't found the time to decorate, but have checked one item off of my New Year's To Do list:  clean out and organize everything in the basement.  Matt and I spent an entire day working on this and I feel extremely accomplished.  Next up, our GARAGE.  At least it's finally to the point where we can actually park our cars inside :)  Just a few thousand more items in there to organize.

I have TONS of pics that I haven't had a chance to upload to Facebook, so I know everyone who lovingly *stalks* my children on FB, I am REALLY behind.  Note to self:  become more organized with photos and videos.  Set aside one day per week to work on this.  (this sounds suprisingly like a book I read last year...I don't know how she does it)

Back to what's up with us.  Since my last blog, we have celebrated the twins' first birthday and it was AMAZING...
We were still living in our rental house at the time, so we spent the night at my mom's the night before and got up and took them to breakfast at IHOP, where the wait staff sung happy birthday to them and brought them a treat.  We thought that would be a great way to soften the blow of having to go to the doctor for their one year check-up (and yucky shots).  It was easier to make the appointment on their actually birthday (cruel, I know), since we were both already off of work.

We also had the opportunity to meet with our builder that day and finalize a few things with some of the sub contractors and our insurance company and we officially received our passed inspection and had our utilities turned on.

We had a HUGE birthday bash the next weekend.  We had already opted for reserving the church fellowship hall for the party, since we were unsure of what the status of our living arrangements would be at that point.  We went with a Safari Animal theme, since we needed something "unisex" :)  If you notice their cute custom outfits below, I had a vision in my head, and thanks to Taylor Made Bows & Oh Sew Unique designs, it came to life.

Em & Chan had a BLAST.  We had at least 70 folks at the party and we had TONS of food.  We wanted to at least provide everyone a good meal to say thanks for all the help we had received through the year.  The cake was so delicious, but the twins didn't really smash theirs' very much :)

I will also say, I am proud, as a parent, that we did make some accomplishments by the one year milestone.  The kids were both off of formula, pacis, and bottles before they turned one.  It does drive me a bit crazy to see older toddlers still using some of those items, so I was determined to make sure mine were not addicted to them.

I PROMISE I will catch up and blog about some of our other memorable moments of 2011:  first beach vacation, first trip with Nana, super fun 1st birthday bash for Pey-Pey, Halloween, Christmas, Mama's b-day, Chan's surgery, etc.

Please, all of you expert bloggers out there, tell me how to do this...I need suggestions and TIPS

:)

Thanks!!
